Abortion-ban legislation is becoming abundant in many states. While each state in the US has their own set of laws regarding abortion care, specifically the gestational age of a fetus is used to determine whether or not an abortion can be performed.  For example, our Baltimore clinic offers abortion care from 3 to 22 weeks, but our Austin, Texas clinic is only able to offer abortion care up to 18 weeks, and in Charlottesville, Virginia, we are limited to 13 weeks and 6 days.

According to a study at the Guttmacher Institute, “Conservatives now have a clear majority on the U.S. Supreme Court and Roe v. Wade is in jeopardy of being hollowed out or overturned. Against that backdrop, policymakers in a number of states continued to pass new abortion restrictions in 2018, including measures clearly intended to violate Roe by banning abortion at early stages of pregnancy. At the same time, more than half of all states adopted measures to expand or protect access to sexual and reproductive health care.”
